Job Description
We will be recruiting for a Cycle Mechanic to join in Oxford with the intention of bringing new ideas, experience and help our team and business to achieve ever-greater heights by leading and inspiring from the front. Could this be you? This role will be based at our Depot in Oxford, OX2 0EX
As an Cycle Mechanic you will be given the autonomy and responsibility for the:

- Day-to-day maintenance, inspections and diagnosis of our cargo bike fleet
- Recovery service for break downs, supporting our whole team on the road side and supporting with spares kits and reducing probability of break downs and training riders on basic repairs
- Training new riders and supporting with our training course
What we’re looking for
- Cytech qualified is beneficial but not required
- Reporting to our Head Mechanic and designated repairs via our software platform, riders can flag issues and the platform provides inspection sheets and more
- Customer service isn't required however supporting the riders when they need is key
- Basic IT skills
- Flexibility to manage own workload/hours with minimal supervision
- Support with mechanical developments, improvements and upgrades to the cargo bike fleet, ensuring time and cost efficiency
- Team player with the ability to communicate openly and quickly
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- A person capable of decisive and effective decision-making, in a time pressured environment
- A passion for motivating and being part of a purpose driven business
- Someone that really enjoys resolving problems and demonstrates high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility
Job Specifics
You will have a comprehensive induction to Pedal & Post, this will include bringing you up to speed on current systems and process's and you’ll be expected to pass our cargo bike training scheme and be capable of covering any of our delivery routes if required if demand is high
Our depots operates 6 days a week however this role is flexible and as long as the team is supported with breakdowns, maintenance carried out etc you'll be free to choose your working days and hours that best fit the teams needs. You'll also be responsible for supporting training new riders on cargo bikes and teaching our existing team basic repair skills reducing the need for breakdown support, creating spares kits on our bikes and helping improve our systems/process's to improve our business.
This role will also support the role out of a hire cargo bike scheme and maintaining these bikes as well with a fleet of around 40 cargo bikes in total
A full UK driving license is preferable however training towards these can be supported for the right candidate
Remuneration
Your package will include a basic salary with large potential for it to increase with the depots expansion. Use of company vehicles/cargo bikes, you'll have access to some other great perk with local business’s in Oxford
