All Souls joins Oxford University Freight Consolidation Project

All Souls has partnered with local cargo bike delivery firm Pedal & Post and the pioneering freight consolidation project with university of Oxford with the goal to reduce van movements in the city.

What the project has achieved so far:
🚛 Reduced upto 15-20 van movements a day into Oxford
📦 Delivered 13,200 parcels
🌳 Saved 5 tons of co2 over 12 month period
🚲 Traveled 3120 miles!
📈 All Souls joining will increase the impact of the project

Goal here is to reduce the current 15-25 van movements colleges see daily from multiple different parcel companies (think DPD, Yodel, DHL, UPS, Royal mail and more!) and reduce this down to one cargo bike movement in the city. All Souls joining shows a commitment to cleaner air, safer roads, less congestion and parking issues.

Students and staff have done a fantastic job at signing up to the scheme so far from the current colleges, All souls goals are largely to move staff and departments over to the scheme as its predominantly fellows and has no undergraduate students

Working with the All Souls is also an opportunity to reduce van movements on the high street of Oxford as it is opposite university college so its great to capture more of the same street and make vans disappear

Christopher Benton, CEO at Pedal & Post, said: "We are delighted to continue to expand the freight consolidation project, we now have 11 locations on board and this is a great opportunity to continue to expand and demonstrate how this project can help the local area and community with less vans with deliveries on a single cargo bike movement, we have begun the stage 2 phase with yodels parcels coming in automatically and its great to build further on this success"
